Dr. Ryan completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in May 2013. Prior to this, he was a graduate fellow at the UC Washington Center. Dr. Ryan's research interests are political economy, methodology, and public law. The bulk of his work is focused on the dynamics of policymaking in the area of financial services regulation, specifically the vital role played by U.S. regulatory agencies such as the Federal Reserve Board and the Securities and Exchange Commission in shaping political and policy outcomes. Dr. Ryan has also taught a series of seminars on the U.S. Supreme Court and Congress at the UC Washington Center. He is currently a Policy Analyst at the Bipartisan Policy Center's Financial Regulatory Reform Initiative.
