Course Title: How to Experience Museums
Day and Time:
This course will introduce students to how museum experiences are organized, developed, and designed through a series of lectures, assignments, activities, and field trips. The content will be appropriate for entry level learners with a basic understanding of the topic. The step-by-step assignments will lead student groups through the process of developing and designing a new museum or exhibition for the Washington D.C. Mall. The course will follow the chapters in The Exhibition and Experience Design Handbook by Professor Timothy J. McNeil.
Timothy McNeil
Tim McNeil is the Director of the UC Davis Design Museum, and a Professor of Design at the University of California Davis, where he is the primary instructor for courses on exhibition design and environmental graphic design.
