UC Washington Center

The Washington Center is centrally located in a vibrant neighborhood surrounded by embassies and other institutions that influence US policy. It is within steps of public transportation, historical monuments, museums, restaurants, and theaters. It is also located near multiple Universities (1 mile from George Washington University, 1.5 miles from Howard University, 2 miles from Georgetown University, and 3.5 miles from American University), leading to a thriving nightlife scene.

UCDC students are able to take advantage of a variety of activities offered through the UC Washington Center, such as tours of the State Department, White House, and Pentagon and multiple networking and alumni events.

Our Center is just 4 metro stops away from Union Station, allowing our students to use the train and buses for day trips to Philadelphia, Baltimore, National Parks, and the many historic battlefields nearby

Living in D.C.

Washington is a lively city, with an endless array of museums, monuments, historical attractions, events, clubs, restaurants, and close proximity to other cities such as New York and Philadelphia.

Students will have the opportunity to live like Washingtonians, walking or taking public transportation to work. Students can eat at historic restaurants such as Ben's Chili Bowl or grab a bite from one of the many local small businesses at Union Market. Farmer's Markets with fresh foods can be found in all four quadrants year-round. In the spring, students can walk along the Tidal Basin and revel in the cherry blossoms.

Enjoy theater? Students can attend a performance at the Kennedy Center or one of the several acclaimed regional theaters. They can even see their favorite musician - or discover someone new - at concert venues like the 9:30 Club and The Anthem. Sports fans can rejoice as they enter the “District of Champions,” home to the Washington Nationals, Capitals, Mystics, Wizards, Spirit, United, and more.
