Health Policy
Course Title: Public Health Policy
Day and Time: Tuesdays, 10:00am - 1:00pm
This course provides students with an overview of how research can be used to inform public health policy primarily in the United States but also globally. Students will learn how they can leverage research findings to advocate for a specific public health policy, to write a policy brief, and to present research to change a policy agenda. The emphasis will be on applying research to advance public health policy with a focus on what is happening in Washington DC. Students will learn critical skills with a focus on written and verbal communication to make impactful change in a topic of their choice.
Erica Sedlander
Dr. Erica Sedlander is an Assistant Professor and Social and Behavioral Scientist at UCSF. Her research portfolio seeks to uncover mechanisms to help women achieve their reproductive goals throughout the life course (from pregnancy prevention to infertility prevention).
