This class will explore the relationships among politics, news media and government. It will do so by focusing on particular news events in which the role of the media became an integral part of the story. Some of the sessions may change based on guest speakers’ schedules; topics of discussion and readings may also change based on breaking news events.Class meets at 1301 K Street, NW.
For Berkeley and Merced students: If you enroll in Professor Lozada’s American Political Journalism course (Wednesdays, 6:30-9:30p), you MUST take Professor Diascro’s General Research course for your required seminar. This is because all UC students who enroll in other seminars are required to take the four week module, which also meets on Wednesdays, 6:30-9:30p for the first four weeks of the semester. The General Research Seminar is taught on Wednesday mornings, 10a-1pm. If you have questions, please contact the UCDC Registrar Melody Johnson (email@example.com) or Professor Diascro (firstname.lastname@example.org).
