Monday Night Forum: Richard Matthew

Richard Matthew is a member of the United Nations Expert Group on Environment, Conflict and Peacebuilding, and has served on numerous peacebuilding missions, including in Rwanda and Sierra Leone. He is Director of the Blum Center for Global Engagement and Director of the Center for Unconventional Security at UC Irvine, where he is a Professor of Planning, Policy and Design and Political Science.  Matthew has written extensively about the consequences of global warming on security, hunger, and sustainability.  He has done extensive field work in conflict zones in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Blum received a BA from McGill University and a PhD from Princeton University.
