Monday Night Forum: John Sampson

John Sampson serves as Microsoft Corporation’s chief liaison with House Republicans, promoting the company’s agenda on Capitol Hill. He is among the town’s most influential tech lobbyists, joining Microsoft in 1998 after spending a decade working for the House Republican Leadership. Sampson was a top aide to House Majority Leader Dick Armey – one of the architects of “Contract with America’’ -- in the 1990s, and was editor of Legislative Digest, which provided bill summaries to House Republicans. He is among the pioneers of computer technology on the Hill, helping to outfit Republicans with advanced technology systems when they won control of the House from Democrats in 1994. 
 
Sampson a San Francisco native, and received a B.A. in political science from UC San Diego (’08).
