The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, commonly referred to as the "Clery Act," is a federal law that requires each university receiving federal financial aid to annually compile and report specified crime statistics for the university campus and to provide other safety and crime information to members of the campus community. The purpose of this Annual Security Report is to describe to the University of California Washington Center community (faculty, employees and students) the policies and procedures which support and comply with the various Clery Act requirements. This report is also a reference to the safety and security policies and procedures in place to help secure a safe environment for all who work and study at the Center. As a consequence of its great distance from the rest of the University — the nearest campus is over 2500 miles away — the Center has developed its own full complement of security policies. For Clery Act reporting purposes, the UC Washington Center is considered a branch campus of the University of California, Berkeley.

Crime statistics for the Washington Center for the past year are provided below.
