Description:

Spring Quarter-based Seminar: 3/27-6/08/2012 This course is intended to provide academic background and guidance to students whose internships involve in some way the subject matter of the course, in this case, international policy. The primary goal of the course is gain an appreciation of the complex policy community, including governmental, non-governmental, and intergovernmental actors, that engages in forging international policy. We will do this through the lens of specific policy problems. In order to take advantage of our location in Washington, I will bring in practitioners from different policy communities to speak to us about their organizations. In addition, one of your briefing memos will summarize the substance of a House or Senate Committee or committee meeting on a relevant international issue of your choice.
